Scones have become a tradition at our Berkshire Quilts weekends. On Saturday
afternoon, we take a break from the rigors of quilting and enjoy tea time. This is so
important a part of our day that we schedule the trip to a quilt shop around it!
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk or cream (more or less)
Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in butter until it looks like coarse meal.
Beat the egg together with the cream. Pour into dry ingredients, stirring gently.
Dough will be lumpy. Handle dough as little as possible.
